September 2017

Dear Friends of the Hertie School,

We are proud to have welcomed a record number of 285 new students from 50 countries at the start of the academic year 2017/18. We are also delighted that Arjun Appadurai has joined us as Senior Fellow and Lukas Graf as Assistant Professor of Educational Governance. The professorship is funded by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation.

Exciting Board of Trustees updates: Renowned law scholar Christoph Möllers, Humboldt-University Berlin, is our newest member and Alison Smale has been appointed as Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications at the United Nations. Congratulations.

Enjoy the read!
